How to add music to your Instagram Story without a sticker
There are three possible reasons why you might not see the music sticker on your app after following the steps.
- Update your app
- Instagram’s music feature in your country is not available
- You are sharing a branded content campaign
Some features, such as music, are not allowed to be included in branded content ads due to copyright laws and Instagram’s advertising guidelines.
Perhaps you are wondering how to add music without the Sticker to your Instagram Story. There’s good news, friend: there’s an easy way around.
Step 1. Step 1.Open a music streaming app like Spotify, Apple Music.
Step 2. Step 2.
Step 3. Step 3. The final result will include the music from your phone.
This workaround will not show your followers the album cover nor lyrics.
Instagram has not approved it technically so you won’t get the same features as the app. It’s more of an “desperate times call to desperate measures” situation.
You could also be in violation of copyright, which Instagram is very strict about. Instagram may flag your account and remove your Story.
Just FYI: Instagram’s ‘general copyright guidelines’ are as follows:
- Music in stories and traditional live performances of live music (e.g. filming an artist performing live) are allowed.
- A video may be considered limited if it contains more than one full-length recording track.
- It is recommended that you listen to shorter clips of music.
- Your video should always have a visual component. Recorded audio should not be the main purpose of the video.
If you use the workaround above, it would benefit you to use a shorter clip, and accompany your recording by a visual component. Here are over 30 Story ideas that you can shamelessly steal for visual component inspiration.
There is one problem with so many Story ideas. You won’t want them all to be posted at once. It is essential for busy content creators to be able schedule Instagram Stories in just 4 steps.
