Google has added a “Manage” tab to give advertisers more control over how recommendations are applied.
Two options. Google offers two bundle options to advertisers in the new “Manage”.
- Keep your ads up to date. This option offers suggestions to improve responsive search ads, remove redundant keywords and update conversion tracking.
- Your business will grow. This option allows for advanced recommendation optimizations like upgrading keywords to broad matches, optimizing conversions with auto biddings, and adding store visits to convert.
Find out more about the recommendations. You can access the “Manage” tab to find out more about the specific recommendations. It will include descriptions of the recommendations as well as “benefits” for your account. You will also find explanations, links, additional resources, and a Quick Help guide.

Why we care. Google claims these new bundled recommendations give advertisers greater flexibility, but it seems that this is the reverse. Although you can select and deselect the options that you wish, the options are not specific and don’t give any information about what’s being modified. If you don’t know what updates are made, the element of control is lost. Google has the upper hand in terms how flexible they can be.
Auto-apply should always be disabled until you have had the opportunity to test it.
