Mobile. Google Lens button was available on mobile for a while. However, it has been added to the Google.com desktop home page.

Announcement. Google’s VP Engineering, Rajan Patel posted about it on Twitter. He wrote, “The Google homepage doesn’t change often, however today it did. We are always expanding the types of questions that you can ask and improving our answers. Visual questions can now be asked from your desktop.

Why we care. This could lead to more visual searches, and therefore different types of traffic to images and content. Google’s home page isn’t updated often, as Rajan stated. Today was no exception. Google Lens is a truly magical search feature that we should all use more often.
